Marline Russell is a visionary producer, director, and entrepreneur whose work illuminates stories that inspire, empower, and endure. Holding a B.A. in Entertainment Business and an MBA, she has blended her business expertise with her creative passion to establish Life Gem Productions, LLC, an Atlanta-based company specializing in high-quality short-form documentaries and “Mini DocYOUmentaries.”
Her body of work includes The Time Is Now (formerly The Switch), an award-winning documentary recognized for its powerful storytelling. She also directed the proof of concept for the Mutulu Shakur documentary, honoring the legacy of an iconic cultural figure, and produced the proof of concept for A Diamond in the Rough, a project showcasing her dedication to spotlighting untold narratives with purpose and authenticity. In 2024, she also produced the You Give Me Life music video in collaboration with Hill Entertainment.
Marline directed a moving documentary on Dr. Michael W. Westly Sr., a pastor celebrated as an unsung hero, further demonstrating her ability to capture stories of resilience, faith, and community leadership. Beyond her film and music video projects, she is the founder of Georgia Works, an initiative rooted in service and empowerment, and the creator of the Out the Trunk Music Festival, an innovative platform uplifting independent artists.
